Gister avond was ik van plan om deze diary te maken en al vroeg vanmorgen online te plaatsen. Oops, mislukt! Gister avond was het super gezellig in het restaurant en toen ik in mijn hotel kamer aankwam was ik gesloopt. Vanmorgen had ik al om half 8 een shoot in de duinen van Maspalomas en daarom leek het mij verstandiger om te gaan slapen. Inmiddels ben ik terug van de shoot (daar later meer over, hierboven alvast een sneak preview) en is het tijd om mijn eerste avonturen vanuit hier met jullie te delen.
Yesterday evening I had the plan to make a diary about my first days here on Gran Canaria. Oops, I failed! Why? Because I had so much fun in the restaurant and when I came back in my hotel room I was super super tired. This morning I had a early call-time for a shoot (I had to wak up at 7 in the morning) so it was wiser to go to bed. Right now my shoot is a wrap (more about that soon) and finally I found the time to write about my first days here on Gran Canaria.
De eerste vier dagen van mijn trip verblijf ik in SeaSide Palm Beach. Dit is een prachtig luxueus 5 sterren hotel aan het strand van Maspalomas. Dit is het zuidelijke deel van Gran Canaria, waar meestal het zonnetje volop schijnt. We hebben een luxe kamer type C op de 7de verdieping met uitzicht op het strand. In de ochtend schijnt het zonnetje op het balkon, GENIETEN!
The first four days of my trip I am staying at SeaSide Palm Beach. This is a beautiful luxurious 5star hotel close to the beach of Maspalomas (on walking distance). Maspalomas is located on the southern part of Gran Canaria and the sun is shining through the year. We have a luxes room typ C on the 7th floor with sea view (lucky). In the morning the sun is shining on our balcony. LOVE IT!
Toen ik de eerste dag aan kwam was ik vooral bezig met de tuin verkennen. Gran Canaria staat bekend om zijn prachtige bloemen (dit, natuurlijk omdat de zon bijna altijd schijnt). Je ziet diverse exotische sierplanten zoals hibiscus, oleander, frangipane, poinsettia en de onverwoestbare bougainville die bijna het hele jaar bloeit. Oh en zie je op de tweede foto het zwembad op de achtergrond. Idyllisch toch?
When I arrived I was quite busy exploring the breathtaking garden of Palm Beach hotel. Gran Canaria is known for its beautiful flowers (this, of course, because the sun almost always shines). You see a variety of exotic ornamental plants such as hibiscus, oleander, frangipani, poinsettia and the bougainville blooms almost all year. Oh and can you see the pool in the background on the second picture. Idyllic right?
We zitten hier op basis van halfpension en in de middag kan je genieten van een a la carte lunch. Er staan typische Spaanse gerechten op, maar ook Franse en Italiaanse gerechten (volop keuze dus!). De eerste middag kozen wij voor een caeser salade, caprese en meloen met spaanse ham. SMULLEN! Oh en hoe schattig zijn de zeepaardjes (logo van SeaSide) in de koffie?
In the afternoon you can enjoy an a la carte lunch on the terrace (close to the pool). There are typical Spanish, but also French and Italian dishes on the menu (so plenty of choice!). The first afternoon we chose a Caeser salad, caprese and melon with Spanish ham. JUMMMY!!!
SeaSide Palm Beach heeft drie zwembaden; Een kinderbad, een zwembad in lagunestijl en een zoutwater zwembad. Het zoutwater zwembad hoort bij het wellness center waar je ook kan genieten van diverse sauna’s, een zoutgrot, stoombad, massages en een verwarmde hottube. Alles is bijna onder een dak en daarom heb ik een beetje het gevoel van een groot wellness center. Overdag kan je prima in je badjas naar het zwembad en niemand die daar gek van op kijkt. Dat vind ik dus ultiem genieten en tot rust komen. Snappen jullie wel toch? Ik trek die badjas niet meer uit, grapje hoor!
SeaSide Palm Beach has three pools; A children’s pool, a lagoon-style pool and a saltwater pool. The saltwater pool is part of the wellness center where you can also enjoy various saunas, a salt cave, steam bath, massages and a heated hot tube. Everything is almost under one roof, so I have got the feeling of a large wellness center. During the day you can comfortably walk in your bathrobe to the pool, yes this is the ultimate relaxing holiday feeling. You can understand it right?
Naast dat ik tot rust kom probeer ik wel mijn conditie op pijl te houden en dat kan prima hier. Er is een (buiten) gym aanwezig, maar ik besloot vanaf het hotel de tweede dag 5KM langs het strand richting Maspalomas Beach te rennen. Na 2,5 KM deed ik een aantal buikspier oefening, lunges en squats en daarna rende ik weer 2,5 KM terug. Het was zwaar, maar toen ik in de hotel kamer kwam voelde het super goed. Wat vinden jullie trouwens van mijn oranje Reebok legging? GO or NO GO?
Besides finding rest, I want to work-out a little bit to get in shape for summer season. There is an (outside), gym in the hotel, but I decided to have a 5KM run along the beach to Maspalomas Beach. After 2.5 KM I did some abs exercise, lunges and squats and then I ran 2.5 KM back. It was tough, but when I came back in the hotel room it felt super good. What do you think of my orange Reebok legging? GO or NO GO?
SeaSide is een Duits concern en heeft ook hotels in Hamburg, Lanzarote, Leipzig en een 5+ star hotel op loopafstand van Palm Beach. Tijdens mijn tweede dag kreeg ik een rondleiding in het luxe Grand Hotel Residencia. De doelgroep van dit hotel ligt hoger en het is echt bedoelt voor mensen die opzoek zijn naar ultieme rust.
SeaSide is a German company and has hotels in Hamburg, Lanzarote, Leipzig and a 5+ star hotel within walking distance from Palm Beach. On my second day I got a tour in the luxury Grand Hotel Residencia. The target group of this hotel is higher and for people who are really looking for ultimate relaxation and rest.
Ik sluit deze diary af met mijn favoriet bezigheid van de afgelopen dagen. Of terwijl genieten van het zonnetje in mijn bikini aan de zwembadrand. Oh en natuurlijk ook heerlijk lunchen bij het zwembad. Yes, ik vermaak mijzelf hier prima! Ook zin in een paar dagen zon, boek dan Grand Hotel Residencia jouw ultieme relax vakantie naar SeaSide Palm Beach Maspalomas. Ik ga snel weer een duik in het zwembad nemen. I close this diary with my favorite activity of the last few days; enjoying the sun in my bikini on the pool side. Oh and of course enjoying a delicious lunch by the pool.
